MEAL/TRANSLATIONS + LUGAT/DICTIONARIES

Turkish (+Arabic):

  • (BEST) https://www.kuranmeali.com

    • Ragib Isfahani's El Mufredat for Lugat and Gharibu'l Qur’an (Excellent!)

    • Corpus built in. (I feel like it is missing some words that come up in corpus.quran.com below but at the same time it shows where personal names occur in the Kuran which corpus doesnt)

    • Mu'cem El Mufehres built in (like Corpus but better organized, less searchable: kuranmeali.com/Mucem.php

English:

    1. One of the best: https://corpus.quran.com

      • Lists every occurrence of every word from each trilateral root and the verse they appear in.

      • Other analytical info.

    2. Quran.com

      • Very nice interface. Meals in lots of languages.

      • Searchable. But not as powerful as Corpus.

      • 3 Tafsirs. But growing.

Separate Dictionaries

    1. Badawi & AbdelHaleem: Arabic-English Dictionary of Qur'anic Usage. Very authoritative and one of the newest sources.

      • FG: I recently came across it, so don't know it as well. I have the PDF to share if anyone wants it.

    2. Edward Lane's Lexicon: https://www.laneslexicon.com

      • I recently found this but apparently it's quite famous and a few words I looked up came consistent with other arabic lugats and tafsirs I read..

      • Corpus website has a link to a *slightly* better interface of Lane's lexicon: www.tyndalearchive.com/TABS/Lane

TEFSIR/TAFSIR

Turkish:

  • http://islamilimleri.com/Tefsir/Tefsir/index.htm:

  • 13 Tafseers. Can be read verse by verse.

  • FG: This website has an amazing variety of resources, including lugats, full books on usul-u tafsir, hadis, usul-u hadis, fiqh, etc, etc. One of my top 3 resources.

  • English:

    • Quran.com has 3 English tafseers (Ibn Kathir, Ma'arif Al-Quran, Tazkirul Quran).

      • FG: This website is very well designed and has lots of other great features (sort surahs by tanzil order, choose script, show tajweed, etc, etc.) They also ask for donations, which seems very well worth it for what they provide to the ummah 🙂)

    • Seyyid Qutb's Fi-Zilal is available in English as PDF online (google it).

  • Arabic:

  • Al-Tafsir.com: https://www.altafsir.com/index.asp

    • Several tafsirs organized by style (Sunni, Sufi, etc) but interface is quite poor.
